Our Amazing Brother...

We are hooking up with 'Show Us Your Life Friday' over at Kelly's Korner. This week is 'Show us your single boys' and we just so happen to know of one :)

Meet our brother, Dustin, a handsome, single, 23 year old, from Northwest Arkansas! What's not to like about Dustin?! He's one of the most amazing men we have ever known
(yes, we may be a bit partial but hey, he's pretty great!)

Dustin is a laid-back kind of guy, doesn't worry about too much. He's a family man. Fond of the outdoors, Dustin enjoys hunting and fishing and fourwheelin'. He also likes looking at the stars and the sky and he's got some pretty cool pictures to prove it!

He loooooves his nieces and nephew. He always buys them the coolest, most thoughtful gifts, shows them magic tricks, and teaches them pretty neat stuff. Just recently, he called his oldest niece to have her look at the big, cool clouds outside.....aww....so sweet! He's the best Uncle so we KNOW he'd make an awesome Daddy!

He's a very talented man. Music is a big part of his life. He is a self taught guitar player and has been apart of praise and worship for several years (he can sing too but he doesn't like people to know that...shhhh-ha!)

He's also very wise and very deep. The boy knows lots of stuff, whether it be Bible verses, music lyrics, TV quotes, etc, etc. He's just a smart guy!

He enjoys helping people, which is why he's currently going to school and got accepted to the EMT program (we are SO proud!) He should've been a doctor as much as he knows about medical stuff! He amazes us at how knowledgeable he is!

Last but most importantly, he has a wonderful heart for God. He is not the type of guy who just “dates around.” He doesn’t want to date a girl unless he can see himself marrying her one day. How sweet is that?? He is such a wonderful guy, and any girl would be so blessed to call him her own.

P.S. Dustin doesn't know about this YET! So we'll post for now and brag on what a great guy we think he is and he can thank us later :)

Also, we apologize none of the pics are of him by himself. We could only find ones of him with our kids. HA!

Mothers Day!

We had a great mothers day this year! We started off the day by going to church. It was a GREAT service! Then we went to Pettigrew (my home town) to see my grandparents & the rest of my family, including two of the most amazing mothers I know! (my mom & sister) We relaxed all day & rode 4-wheelers. It was great! I'm the type of gal who would rather throw on some jeans & a sweat shirt & head to the country to play over dressing up & eating a nice dinner out. So Jeff, GREAT job on giving me the best mothers day yet!

1 yr stats

Well, better late than never right?
Alli weighs in at a whopping 17lbs 6oz. (5th percentile)
(sorry Al. No turning around in your car seat yet...)
29 1/2 in. long (70th percentile)
She is walking, talking, eating big girl food... you name it. I've now got myself a toddler. Boo hoo.
She is one of the funniest kids I have ever met. She LOVES to play peek-a-boo & dance.
We are also working on body parts. I say "Alli, where's your nose?" She will point to her eyes. haha! We are getting there. Right now we are working on ears, eyes, nose, & mouth.
We are also working on weening from booby milk but she spits out any other kind of drink so I may still be breastfeeding when she's 20. ha! I'm so glad she has done so well with booby milk.
Every day her little personality comes out more & more.
I'm so happy I am able to stay home with her each & every day.
What a true blessing!

HAPPY 1 YR BIRTHDAY ALLI GIRL!!
MOMMY & DADDY LOVE YOU!

11 Months!

Well this is a bitter sweet month for me. This is the last time I will be able to say Alli is ____ months old. BOO HOO! I can't believe she will be a year old in less than a month! My word, where has the time gone? She is such a fun little girl.

What is she up to these days you might ask?
~The girl is a crawling, standing, walking (when holding onto something or someone) little machine! I really think she will be walking on her own before her birthday. She has a "walker" toy that she roams all over the house with. Jeff calls her a little old man when she is using it. It's so funny! She has also mastered standing without holding on and squating down to pick something up and coming back up to a stand.
~She weighs 16lbs 13oz. I guess I just misread last months weight because I know she didn't lose weight. This girls a growing potato!
~She still has only 2 teeth which I got to experience first hand the other night when she chomped down while nursing!! OUCH!!
~Depending on the outfit she can wear anywhere from 3-6 month to 12 months. Pants have to be 12 month other wise she's wearing high waters.
~She loves to play ball. We play catch with her all the time. She can actually throw it pretty good.
~She says "hi" to ALL kids. Walking through Wal-Mart if she see's a baby she'll say "hi... hi... hi". So sweet!
~The funniest thing she does right now is looks under doors. No matter where we are if the door is shut she bends waaaaay down to see what is underneath it. ha!
~Wait maybe this is funnier.... Jeff & I are two of the biggest dorks you will ever meet. One night we were cooking and were going "MOOOWWAAAHHHAAAHHHAAA" at each other. (I know, stupid) But anyhow, next thing we know Alli is joining right in saying it with us!! I don't know if I have ever laughed so hard!! Now she does it all the time!
~She is not to crazy about food. She loves her booby milk but isn't at all fond of eating big girl food. Although, you give the girl a lil' crunchie and it's gone before you know it. (shrug) Who knows....

I think that is all the big stuff this month she has conquered. We are so blessed!!!

2010

So my first post of 2010 is going to be two updates rolled into one. If you haven't already noticed I've been a horrible mom and haven't updated Alli's stats since December. Well here goes....

9 MONTHS:

~You weigh 16 lbs even (10th percentile)
~You are 27 1/2 in long (25th percentile)
~You wear size 3 diapers and are anywhere from 3-6 month clothes to 12 month.
~On January 2nd you pulled up to a stand all by yourself. You were doing it before I had even realized what you were doing. :-)
~You started really crawling this month. You had been "army" crawling for a few weeksbut now you crawl on all fours.
~You love to play in your toy box. You like to pull out all your toys and throw them over your shoulder.
~You talk a lot. Some of the many words you say are "Yay!" "dadda" "Ahh"
~You love Lil' Chrunchies.
~You are still not sleeping through the night but most nights it doesn't bother me. I like to snuggle with you when you wake up. :-)
~Several people say that when you smile you light up the whole room. I agree....

10 MONTHS:

~You weigh 17lbs 6oz. (you grew a lot this month)
~You can still wear some 3-6 month but mostly 6-9 and 9-12.
~YOU NOW HAVE 2 TEETH! YAY!! They started coming through on Feb.12th.
~You like pretty much any baby food (except bananas) and now love pickles, tomatoes, yogurt, and apples. ~You do not like butter (thanks aunt Jamie for letting her try some. barf!!)
~You are all over the place. Mommy & Daddy caught you in the bathroom trying to play in the toilet. Yuck! ~You love to explore the house.
~You stand and walk holding on to things. It's so cute cause you are so tiny.
~You love to be out and about especially when you get to see other kids. You always say "hi".
~The other day you held your baby to your chest and started patting her back. I said "ahhh...Alli you love your baby?" and then you looked up at me and started slamming her to the ground. EEK! It was so cute!
~You have now added "Nana" "Hi Cade" "mama" and "done" to your vocabulary. I was nursing you the other day and you quit eating and looked up at me and said "done". Guess you were finished. Ha!

Alli, you are the light of our lives. You are such a blessing and such a beautiful little girl. We are so proud of you and all your accomplishments. :-) Love you sweet girl!
